The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) recently announced the relaunch of a Website intended to keep industry professionals, equipment owners, and others informed regarding the phaseout of ozone-depleting refrigerants.

Www.phaseoutfacts.org "is a one-stop-shop for information and deadlines on the refrigerant phaseout, as well as important safety information," Stephen Yurek, AHRI president and chief executive officer, said. "We hope this site serves as a valuable tool for homeowners, business owners, technicians, and manufacturers."

The Website includes detailed information on refrigerants and the history of the Clean Air Act. The "Contractors and Technicians" section contains updates on sales restrictions and changes in how contractors service and dispose of systems and refrigerants. Information on residential and commercial air conditioning, as well as commercial refrigeration, is provided in the "Equipment Owners" section. "Equipment Owners" also includes a checklist to help business owners comply with federal and state laws regulating refrigerant emissions.
