AMCA International Elects 09-10 Board

Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc.

Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. installed members of its board of directors for 2009-2010 during its 54th Annual Meeting Sept. 10 in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.

Art LaPointe, vice president and general manager of Construction Specialties Inc. of Cranford, N.J., was elected president.

Involved with AMCA International since 1996, LaPointe has served as co-chair and chairman of AMCA's Air Control division, as an AMCA Bylaws Task Force member, and as a Statistical Program Committee member. Also, he has served on AMCA's board of directors and executive board, holding the positions of director at large, treasurer, and vice president.

Outgoing president Denis Labelle of T.A. Morrison & Company Inc. was installed as chairman of the board.

Michael Barry of Twin City Fan Companies Ltd. was installed as vice president.

Vic Colwell of Loren Cook Co. was installed as treasurer.

George Atkinson of Hartzell Fan Inc. was installed as director at large on the executive committee.

Re-elected to the board of directors were Dane Carey of United Enertech Corp.; Michael Pijar of Berner International Corp.; Geoff Sheard, PhD, of Flakt Woods Ltd.; C.F. Yang of Kruger Ventilation Industries Pte. Ltd.; and Gary Stroyny of Greenheck Fan Corp.

Newly elected to the board of directors were Patrick Cockrum of Pottorff and John Knapp of Ruskin Co.
