ASHRAE Publishes ‘GreenGuide’ for Sustainable Buildings

Feb. 25, 2014
The book contains changes impacting green-building design: • Revision of the chapter on indoor environmental quality. • A new chapter on sustainable sites.

ASHRAE recently announced the publication of the fourth edition of “ASHRAE GreenGuide: Design, Construction, and Operation of Sustainable Buildings.”

Available in print and electronic form, the book contains several changes impacting green-building design, including:

• Revision of the chapter on indoor environmental quality, with much of the content based on ASHRAE’s “Indoor Air Quality Guide: Best Practices for Design, Construction, and Commissioning.”

• A new chapter on sustainable sites summarizing key issues related to locating a building project, landscaping, urban heat-island effect, exterior lighting/light as a pollution source, and stormwater management.

The book contains 44 “GreenTips”—sidebars providing information on techniques, processes, measures, and systems—including new ones on condensing boilers, rain gardens, green roofs, and data centers.

Also, the book now contains figures printed in color.

The cost of both the print book and e-book is $87 for ASHRAE members and $103 for non-members. Copies can be ordered by phone at 800-527-4723 (United States and Canada) or 404-636-8400, by fax at 678-539-2129, or online at www.ashrae.org/bookstore.
