Short courses scheduled for Jan. 25-27 at McCormick Place are “Humidity Control: Basic Principles, Loads, & Equipment,” “The Basics of a Proposed Standard on High Performance Green Buildings (Standard 189.1P),” “Introduction to Green Buildings & Sustainable Construction,” “Energy Management in New & Existing Buildings,” “Chilled Beam Technology,” “Low-Temperature Radiant Heating & High Temperature Radiant Cooling Systems,” “Healthcare Facilities: Best Practice HVAC Design Considerations & Criteria,” “Humidity Control: Applications, Control Levels, & Mold Avoidance,” “Healthcare Facilities: Best Practice Applications of HVAC Systems,” and “Introduction to Thermal Energy Storage Systems for A/C.”

ASHRAE Learning Institute will offer 11 three-hour courses and four six-hour courses Jan. 24-28.

On Jan. 28 at McCormick Place, ASHRAE will hold a morning reception and provide 18 hands-on educational programs, as well as access to the AHR Expo show floor.

The event's technical keynote speaker will be Adrian Bejan, PhD, the J.A. Jones Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Duke University. Bejan developed constructal theory, which he says can predict how everything flows through time and space. He will speak Jan. 25 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Palmer House Hilton.
