The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recently announced the publication of ASHRAE Guideline 10-2011, Interactions Affecting the Achievement of Acceptable Indoor Environments.

Hal Levin, chair of the committee that wrote the guideline, said Guideline 10 is intended to help building design professionals and operators better understand and use existing documents dealing with indoor environments, including ASHRAE standards related to energy, ventilation, indoor-air quality, and thermal conditions.

ASPE

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) recently announced the pre-publication sale of “Illustrated Plumbing Codes Design Handbook.”

Written by past ASPE president and plumbing-codes expert Julius A. Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, the book is intended to help plumbing professionals better understand International Plumbing Code and Uniform Plumbing Code requirements with descriptive commentary accompanied by computer-aided-design (CAD) drawings. A CD-ROM contains all of the CAD drawings found in the book.
