Mark S. Lentz, PE, president of Lentz Engineering Associates of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., is the newest member of HPAC Engineering's Editorial Advisory Board.

Nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for having successfully developed, tested, and proven several advanced HVAC-system strategies designed to exceed the performance requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, while meeting or exceeding the requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, Lentz is the recipient of numerous national engineering honors, including Energy (1988), Symposium Paper of the Year (1991), and Distinguished Service (2001) awards from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Frequently a speaker at ASHRAE Annual and Winter meetings, Lentz is a member or corresponding member of six ASHRAE technical committees (TCs) and has served as chairman of ASHRAE TC 9.8, Large Building Air-Conditioning Applications, and vice chairman of ASHRAE TC 5.7, Evaporative Cooling.

Lentz has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
