Energy-recovery ventilators

Energy-recovery ventilators (ERVs) help meet the demand for improved indoor environmental quality (IEQ) by satisfying requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Lossnay ERVs recapture cooling and heating energy, equalize humidity levels, and remove harmful indoor pollutants. They enable users to target different zones with varying heating and cooling needs on a case-by-case basis. The ERVs have a low-maintenance energy-exchange core constructed of a specially treated cellulose-fiber membrane that prevents the mixing of inbound and exhaust air. The ERVs also exhaust irritating indoor pollutants, such as formaldehyde, pollen, cigarette smoke, dust, and carbon dioxide. Air streams are transferred and exhausted through adjacent passages in the core with minimal cross-contamination. During cold months when humidity is low, inbound air is warmed and humidified with warmer indoor air; during warm months, air is cooled and dehumidified with cooler exhausted air, minimizing the load on the cooling and heating system.

Dedicated heat-recovery chillers

Able to produce hot water from 110°F to180°F, dedicated heat-recovery chillers recover heat generated during cooling to supplement/replace gas used to heat a building's hot-water boiler. The chillers are useful in buildings that need cold air for computer rooms, laboratories, and storage areas while requiring heat for hot water, processing, and sterilization.

Rooftop units

Precedent 3- to 10-ton light-commercial rooftop units cool and condition air while surpassing the energy-efficiency-ratio minimum by 12 percent. The units offer easy access to filters and controls through single side-access doors.

Air conditioners

For critical environments such as data-equipment centers and medical-equipment rooms, the Ecosaire EN Series of 7½- to 30-ton air conditioners offers a 95- to 98-percent sensible-heat ratio. The air conditioners use environmentally friendly R-410A or R-407c refrigerant.

Gas-fired heaters

With models ranging from 135,000 to 310,000 Btuh, Effinity93 gas-fired unit heaters feature a Conservicore high-grade stainless-steel secondary heat exchanger designed to withstand the acidic condensate that is a byproduct of the combustion process.

Water-source heat pumps

Offering multiple cabinet configurations and available in 7- to 25-ton units, Tranquility Large Vertical (TLV) heat pumps use EarthPure HFC-410A refrigerant. The units are designed to be field-convertible to front or back return and top, front, or back discharge. Compressor mounting and belt-drive blowers help minimize vibration/sound attenuation.
