The International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation will hold the inaugural meeting of its policy committee in conjunction with the Energy Efficiency Global Forum and Exposition (EE Global) 2010, which is being held May 10-12 in Washington, DC.

On May 11, government officials attending the policy-committee meeting will discover new strategies that can yield high energy-efficiency gains and improvements for the international community.

Meanwhile, EE Global delegates attending plenary sessions will hear from Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), EE Global government chairs who support energy-efficiency policies and programs that spur job growth and incentivize cutting-edge technologies.

During the conference, several people will be honored, including Dr. Ajay Mathur, director general of the Indian Bureau of Energy Efficiency of India; Dr. Joe Oteng-Adjei, minister of energy of Ghana; and the Honorable Ricardo Raineri, minister of energy of Chile.

Finally, the conference’s 20 concurrent executive dialogue sessions will offer global energy-efficiency policy strategies from the people making them happen, such as Lena Ek, member of the European Parliament (Sweden), Representative Peter Welch (D-Vt.), and Long Beach, Calif., Mayor Bob Foster.
