As COO, Amy Freeman brings 23 years of broad-based experience from both Fortune 500 and privately held companies. CFO Andy Mandell was previously COO for CoolSys subsidiary Source Refrigeration & HVAC.

Brea, Calif-based CoolSys, a refrigeration and HVAC services provider, named Amy Freeman as chief operating officer and Andy Mandell as chief financial officer.

A performance-driven senior level operations executive, Freeman brings 23 years of broad-based experience from both Fortune 500 and privately held companies. Prior to joining CoolSys, she was the vice president of global service operations for PerkinElmer Inc., a human and environmental health company.

Freeman previously held the role of general manager of service at GE Healthcare, where she was responsible for the $400 million diagnostic imaging and clinical service full P&L for the western half of the United States. She also served as vice president and general manager of service operations at Masterplan, Inc., a provider of clinical technology management and medical equipment maintenance programs. Earlier in her career, Freeman held numerous leadership and management positions at GE Medical Systems.

In an operations capacity, Freeman will be instrumental in expanding the company’s capabilities, driving organizational efficiencies and overseeing merger and acquisition integration. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. She has undergone extensive formal business training at GE Healthcare Institute and the world-renowned John F. Welch Leadership Development Center, and is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

“We are fortunate to have Amy as part of the CoolSys executive management team with her expertise across the operational spectrum,” said Adam Coffey, CEO of CoolSys. “I have had the pleasure of working with Amy in the past and am confident that she will be an invaluable asset to our customers and the company in building infrastructure and operations support for our family of brands.”

Mandell was previously COO for CoolSys subsidiary Source Refrigeration & HVAC. Prior to his tenure there, Mandell spent the past 15 years at Valley Crest, a national landscape development firm, where he served as CFO for the entire company, as well as president and CEO of the Valley Crest Group business segment. Previously, he held a series of senior financial roles at large public companies, including NewsCorp, Universal, ITT Sheraton, the Walt Disney Co. and PepsiCo.

As CFO and member of the leadership team, Mandell serves as a financial steward for the fast-growing company and provides strategic insight to the finance and accounting teams to serve the needs of its customers, acquisitions and business partners. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He also holds a CPA certification from the state of Maryland and is a licensed general contractor in California.

“Andy brings vast financial leadership experience to his new role, having served as a CFO with numerous Fortune 500 companies,” Coffey said. “This expertise, combined with his industry knowledge, will strengthen our financial and accounting team’s ability to support our customers and the company’s continued rapid growth through mergers and acquisitions.”
