Nationwide Boiler Acquires Pacific Combustion Engineering/Ponder Burner Co.

PCE/Ponder Burner Co. will continue to operate under its current name as a division of Nationwide Boiler Inc., and managed by Jack Valentine.

Fremont, Calif.-based Nationwide Boiler Inc. announced that it has acquired Pacific Combustion Engineering/Ponder Burner Co., with headquarters in Washougal, Wash. In its 50-year history, this is Nationwide Boiler’s first purchase of another company, led by President and CEO Larry Day, along with the assistance of Vice President and CFO Michele Tomas, and Director of Operations Sean McMenamin. The integration process has already begun, and it is expected to be a smooth ownership transition.

Pacific Combustion Engineering/Ponder Burner Co. is a 71-year-old combustion sales and service company, specializing in custom control panel systems for a variety of industries. The company represents several industrial equipment manufacturers and serves markets in the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

“The combination of Pacific Combustion Engineering/Ponder Burner Co.’s highly rated UL508A & 698A panel shop and engineering and fabrication capabilities, paired with Nationwide Boiler’s robust product line, will allow us to continue providing customers with the highest-quality equipment in the industry,” Day said.

Pacific Combustion Engineering/Ponder Burner Co. will continue to operate under its current name as a division of Nationwide Boiler Inc. The division will be managed by Jack Valentine, who has worked closely with Nationwide Boiler for more than 17 years as its primary panel provider.

In addition to expanded coverage in the region, the acquisition of PCE/Ponder Burner will enhance Nationwide Boiler’s product offerings, with the ability to provide control systems across multiple industries that utilize combustion equipment. The panel fabrication shop also has the ability to perform Factory Acceptance Testing, which is required by many customers prior to shipment to prove that equipment has the same functionality as indicated in the specification and purchase order.
