ACG, EMA Host Free Webinar on Intelligent Use of Intelligent Building Solutions

July 17, 2018
The webinar will discuss the scope of sustainability-related measures, examine the role of technologies such as the Internet of Things and provide tips on funding and resources.

Technology advances over the past decade have made learning environments more efficient, personalized and comfortable, but these advances come at a cost. And the costs are busting the budgets of school district, college and university operations, leaving them cash-strapped as they attempt to implement sustainability measures. Ironically, some of these measures are enabled by the same intelligent building technologies that strain budgets.

The AABC Commissioning Group and the Energy Management Association are presenting a free webinar July 19 that provides essential information to education-based administrators, architects, engineering staff and energy services providers on developing a sustainability strategy and how and where to find resources to overcome these challenges.

Sponsored by Victor Stanley, the webinar, “Intelligent Use of Intelligent Building Solutions: Understanding the Challenges and Available Solutions to Improve Campus and Learning Environments,” begins with a discussion of the scope of sustainability-related measures, examines the role of technologies such as the Internet of Things and provides tips on how to find funding and resources.

Presenter Ray Prosise is the director of government business development at Onicon. He has provided energy measurement and savings solutions and instruction to intelligent building customers since 1982. His experience has allowed him to work with key engineering firms and manufacturers that provide intelligent solutions for schools, universities and government structures.

Attendees will be able to earn these Continuing Education Credits: AIA 1 LU, 1 USGBC LEED General Education CE, 1 point CxA & EMP CE. Many other certification bodies and licensing boards accept AIA credits; attendees should check with their certification body.
