One, in particular, that caught our eye is the Cloud Cast:

The team at MIT’s SENSEable City Lab has created the Cloud Cast, which was designed by architect Carlo Ratti. Green Optimistic said the MIT lab and Ratti recently showcased this system in Dubai, touting it as both energy- and water-efficient. Aluminum rods are fitted with sensors into the ceiling, which are activated by the presence of people. Mist is sent down to cool someone off as they walk by, something MIT said is more efficient than air conditioning.

Will the Cloud Cast system replace the comfort systems of today? We’re still a long way from that. However, it’s great to see new innovations in comfort technology.

Pop over to Contracting Business’ website and take a look at some other very cool innovations within the HVAC industry.
