Video Discusses Benefits of Integral Louvers in Crossflow Cooling Towers

Evaporative cooling tower manufacturer SPX Cooling Technologies released an informational video that describes the advantages of the integral louvers incorporated into Marley crossflow cooling towers.

In the video, SPX Cooling Technologies Regional Manager Ryan Miller provides a close-up look at the louvers, which are incorporated into the design of the thermoformed PVC heat transfer fill sheets. The louvers contribute to the even, uniform flow of air through the cooling tower and help prevent water splash out, improving water conservation and mitigating slip hazards.

During cold weather operation, Marley integral louvers retain water within the tower and help prevent ice formation because they are located close to the tower heat load. Ice buildup can adversely affect tower performance and damage components. Cooling towers with blade-style louvers do not offer these advantages.
