Uponor Adds Hutchinson Operations Director, Intelligent Water Director

March 2, 2018
Paul Jossart will be responsible for operations at the expanded Hutchinson facility, and Chris Meyer will lead the commercialization of the new Phyn Plus.

Uponor North America named Paul Jossart as its senior manager of operations for the company’s Hutchinson, Minn., expansion. The company also hired appointed product-management professional Chad Meyer to the newly created position of senior director, Intelligent Water.

A 20-year resident of Hutchinson, Jossart will be responsible for operations at the Hutchinson facility. He previously held operations roles at Hutchinson Technology, Nova-Tech Engineering and, most recently, with Arconnic/Remmele Engineering. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

“Paul’s background will prove invaluable as we get our new location up and running in the second half of 2018 and build strong connections in the community,” said Bill Gray, president of Uponor North America. “He will play a critical role to our future success in Hutchinson.”

Uponor announced the $6.35 million investment in Hutchinson in July 2017 after signing an agreement to purchase an existing 237,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility and office space to support the company’s growing U.S. manufacturing operations. It is currently being renovated to manufacture Uponor PEX pipe used in the company’s plumbing, fire sprinkler, and radiant heating and cooling systems.

Meyer will lead the commercialization of the new Phyn Plus smart water assistant + shutoff, which made its debut in early January. He reports to Dena Mayne, vice president of marketing and customer experience. He has worked in product marketing and management for more than 20 years for businesses involved in industrial and consumer products, healthcare products and services and enterprise software solutions.

Most recently, he served five years as senior director of product management at Solera Holdings – Parts Group, based in Plymouth, Minn. Prior to that, he worked five years as director of product marketing for Epicor in Minnetonka, Minn. Both companies provide enterprise software solutions.

Phyn — a smart water monitoring system that automatically measures tiny changes in water pressure in a home’s plumbing system — was formed in 2016 as a joint venture between Uponor and Belkin International.
