CCG Automation is excited to announce after one year of occupancy Akron Children’s Hospital’s Kay Pavilion (KJP), built using the lean process - Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), is operating as one of the most energy efficient hospitals in Ohio with an impressive Energy Star rating of 88. Year to date Kay Jewelers Pavilion is rated higher than any other Energy Star labeled hospital in Ohio. KJP is operating 38% below the national median– that is equivalent to annual avoided costs of over a $500,000/year!
CCG Automation, Inc. is proud to have been part of the project team that provided input on various equipment and installation details that were critical to the comfort and energy efficiency of the building. Brian Wagner, President of CCG, states, “We knew from day one the building was on par to be one of the most energy efficient buildings in the country, so we are extremely pleased with how the building has performed over the past year.” Wagner continues, “It is important to note that not only did KJP operate efficiently but also maintained unprecedented comfort levels throughout the facility.”
Reduced energy use by Akron Children’s will prevent a significant amount of pollutants from being emitted into the atmosphere each year. These pollutants are estimated to be 28,600 tons of CO2 which is equivalent to taking 6,025 cars off the road or 733,802 trees being planted.
