Nashville: Home of the First HVACR Week

The place where the industry meets

They say some of the biggest and best innovations occur when our economy is in the throes of some kind of swing, usually a downward one. The birth of some of today's strongest companies — Google, Starbucks, and others — occurred during the last economic downturn.

Today, our mechanical systems are more efficient than ever, and control technology provides Isaac Asimov-like powers to designers and engineers who are working hard to not only solve comfort and productivity issues, but provide sustainability to a society clamoring for it more than at any other time in history. And how do we stay abreast of all of these changes and trends? By reading HPAC Engineering, of course, but also by networking with peers.

This year, we've made networking much easier by putting three major industry events together under one roof.

On Sept. 21, HVACR Week begins. Located at the Nashville Convention Center, it consists of the Engineering Green Buildings (EGB) Conference and Expo, the Commercial HVACR Symposium (CHS), and HVAC Comfortech 2009.

This event, the first of its kind, is designed to bring together engineers, designers, and contractors to share the very latest in technologies, applications, designs, and business practices. Consulting and specifying engineers, design/build contractors, and others will have a networking opportunity like never before, giving credence to the idea that HVACR Week is the place where the industry meets.

If green is your thing, then EGB is where you'll learn how green-building requirements apply to mechanical systems. You also will learn how to design systems that meet LEED-certification requirements while exchanging ideas with designers focused on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality, sustainability, and more. This is your chance to find solutions to your green-design challenges.

If design/build contracting is your forte, then CHS is the place to learn how to incorporate energy-benchmarking services into your company and how best to get into the renewable-energy industry.

Don't let the economy stop you from learning how to dominate your markets. Register today. Go to for more information on EGB and for more information on CHS.

I hope to see you in Nashville.
