Retired Gen. Colin L. Powell and former ABC News "Nightline" anchor Ted Koppel are among 250 speakers scheduled to appear at the 35th World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC), to be held Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will serve as opening-session speaker, discussing leadership during crisis and change. Koppel, special correspondent for NBC News' "Rock Center" and contributing columnist for The New York Times, will serve as keynote luncheon speaker, addressing how current events in the Middle East will impact energy prices and how the results of the presidential election will influence future energy policy.
WEEC 2012 will feature seminars on a variety of topics, including energy policy, high-performance buildings, and energy-management “best practices” for the federal, commercial, institutional, and industrial marketplace; stimulus funding, green jobs, and financing will be covered in detail. The event also will feature a 100,000-sq-ft exhibition of new lighting, HVAC, and energy-management technologies.
WEEC is hosted by Science Applications International Corp. and presented by The Association of Energy Engineers.
