The Alliance to Save Energy’s Evening With the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Dinner recognizes individuals and companies who have made a difference by furthering the cause of energy efficiency. This year's event will be held Oct. 4 in Washington, D.C. The Alliance currently is accepting nominations for the 2011 Star of Energy Efficiency Awards in several categories:
- The Charles Percy Award for Public Service recognizes an individual for an outstanding public service contribution and/or a lifetime commitment to energy efficiency.
- The “Galaxy” Star of Energy Efficiency recognizes outstanding achievements in energy efficiency for entities earning more than $150 million in annual revenue.
- The “Super Nova” Star of Energy Efficiency recognizes outstanding achievements in energy efficiency for entities earning less than $150 million in annual revenue.
- The “Andromeda” Star of Energy Efficiency recognizes outstanding achievements in energy efficiency for entities earning less than $10 million in annual revenue.
- The “I-Star” Award for Energy Efficiency recognizes the outstanding contributions to energy efficiency achieved through special projects or activities overseas that are led by nominees based outside of U.S. territories.
- The “Innovative” Star of Energy Efficiency Award recognizes an emerging technology or service that has the potential to transform a sector of the energy-efficiency market but, given the early stage of the innovation, has yet to generate proven savings.
