The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) recently announced the publication of ANSI/ARI/ASHRAE ISO Standard 13256-1: 1998, Water-Source Heat Pumps — Testing and Rating for Performance — Part 1: Water-to-Air and Brine-to-Air Heat Pumps, and ANSI/ARI/ASHRAE ISO Standard 13256-2: 1998, Water-Source Heat Pumps — Testing and Rating for Performance — Part 2: Water-to-Water and Brine-to-Water Heat Pumps, which replace ARI Standard 320-1998, Water-Source Heat Pumps; ARI Standard 325-1998, Ground Water-Source Heat Pumps; and ARI Standard 330-1998, Ground Source Closed-Loop Heat Pumps.

In other news, ARI recently announced the revision and approval for publication of ARI Standard 340/360-2004, Commercial and Industrial Unitary Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment.

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) recently announced the publication of the second edition of “Rectangular Industrial Duct Construction Standards.”
The second edition expands the scope of the first, published in 1980, incorporating a revised theory of design, discussion of new materials, and more “user-friendly” tables.
The 446-page “Rectangular Industrial Duct Construction Standards” is available in book form, as a PDF download, and on CD-ROM. The list prices are $295, $295, and $354, respectively.
