ASHRAE recently announced the publication of ASHRAE Guideline 32-2012, Sustainable High-Performance Operations and Maintenance, which provides guidance on optimizing the operation and maintenance of new and existing buildings to achieve the lowest economic and environmental life-cycle cost without sacrificing safety or functionality.

The guideline contains recommendations for three levels of building oversight: senior managers, facility managers, and technicians. Checklists for ensuring that appropriate steps are being taken to move toward high-performance operation and maintenance are included for each.

The cost of ASHRAE Guideline 32 is $59 for ASHRAE members and $69 for non-members. Copies can be ordered by phone at 1-800-527-4723 (United States and Canada) or 404-636-8400, by fax at 404-321-5478, or online at www.ashrae.org/bookstore.
