Jorgen M. Clausen, Danfoss chairman of the board, received the Cleantech Pioneer Award at Cleantech Forum XXII in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 29.
Clausen received the award for spearheading Danfoss’ strategy to minimize the consumption of raw materials and energy in the manufacturing process. Also, he was instrumental in Danfoss’ policy to invest in new clean-technology companies.
“Danfoss remains committed to minimizing the ecological and social impact of technology on local and global environments and is grateful for an award that acknowledges our efforts,” Clausen said.
Clausen is the eldest son of Danfoss founder Mads Clausen, an engineer who established the company in 1933 in his parents’ attic in Nordborg, Denmark.
The Cleantech Awards are the longest-running honors in the clean-technology sector. Since 2003, Cleantech Group LLC, founder of the cleantech investment category, has been recognizing individuals, companies, and other organizations that have worked to further the clean-technology sector.
