The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recently announced the publication of ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1-2009, Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings.

The standard provides a “total building sustainability package” for those who design, build, and operate green buildings, covering site location to energy use to recycling.
