ASHRAE's next High Performance Buildings (HPB) Conference will be held April 7 and 8, 2014, at Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.
Building on the 2012 HPB Conference and the 2009 Net-Zero Energy Conference, “The 2014 HPB Conference provides a unique opportunity for dialog among attendees to facilitate understanding of current indoor-environmental-quality and energy-saving efforts and to share best practices for achieving high-performance buildings,” Kent Peterson, conference chair, said.
The conference topics are intended to provide a comprehensive overview of HPB design, with a focus on strategies in several areas, Peterson said. New subject areas include water efficiency, building occupant behavior, new building technologies, and indoor environmental quality. Additionally, there is increased emphasis on lighting/daylighting and building envelope.
A case-study-type poster session on “measured performance” and “modeled performance” will be presented.
Calls for presenters and posters will be announced in the fall. For more information, go to www.hpbmagazine.org/hpb2014.
