Urban Green Council has issued a call for entries for its EBie Awards, a national juried competition for professionals who have made exceptional improvements to the environmental performance of existing buildings.
Now in its fifth year, the EBies recognize real-estate and operations professionals who have conceived and implemented outstanding sustainability initiatives, often on a limited budget. Specifically, they:
- Recognize people who have implemented replicable solutions to measurably reduce waste, cut energy and water use, make lighting more efficient, and engage tenants in sustainability initiatives.
- Highlight great work in all kinds of buildings, from luxury residential towers to suburban office spaces to low-income housing.
- Serve as case studies that can guide and inspire building staffs in the United States and beyond.
For each winning entry, Urban Green Council will award an EBie to the individual most responsible for making the project happen and recognize other key team members.
Entries will be accepted for projects anywhere in the continental United States. The deadline for entries is April 4.
An independent jury consisting of owners, building operators, designers, and government will select finalists and winners for each award.
The finalists will be announced May 4. The awards will be given during an Oscars-style event June 20 in New York City.
