Kohler Ronan Consulting Engineers Promotes Hedman

Having joined the MEP/FP engineering consulting firm in 2007, sustainability expert now has been named a Partner. He has been a Principal at the firm since 2015.

NEW YORK, NY (January 1, 2023) — The partners at Kohler Ronan, a leading MEP/FP engineering consulting firm, are pleased to share the news that Robert V. Hedman, PE, LEED AP, BD+C, WELL AP, Fitwel Amb., CPHD, LFA, has been promoted to Partner.

Having joined the firm in 2007, he has been an integral member of both the firm’s mechanical department and its Danbury CT office. During his tenure, Hedman has co-led the mechanical department and overseen staff and the management of numerous larger projects. He was made Principal of the firm in 2015.

Hedman has not only served his clients and the firm well over the years, but has also managed to dedicate time to ongoing professional development. Along with being an Accredited LEED AP BD+C from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), he has earned his Well AP from the International Well Building Institute (IWBI), is a certified Fitwel Ambassador from the Center for Active Design, and a Certified Passive House Designer from the Passive House Institute.

Additionally, he has received his Living Future accreditation from the Living Future Institute as well as certification in Level 1 Thermography from the Infrared Training Center.

Several notable collaborations and unique projects mark Hedman’s portfolio. Further, his passion for historic buildings has culminated in systems design for landmark and historically significant buildings across the country, including the Facilities Expansion and Enhancement of The Frick Collection and the Restoration of the Jefferson Rotunda at the University of Virginia.

Hedman has also completed several distinctive projects in collaboration with the National Park Service (NPS). Specifically, his NPS portfolio includes the Pullman National Monument in Chicago, IL, the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument in Wilberforce, OH, and the Thomas Cole House in Catskill, NY.

Hedman holds an MS and BS from Pennsylvania State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in both Connecticut and New York. He is an active member of industry organizations such as The Association for Preservation Technology International (APTI), The Association for Preservation Technology NE Chapter (APTNE), Preservation Connecticut, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).
