AMCA Resets Webinar on Air Curtains, Energy Codes

Jan. 16, 2020
New codes allow air curtains as alternatives to vestibules. That is the subject of this Jan. 23 webinar. Register here.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL, January 14 — Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. has changed the time of its Jan. 23 webinar, “Air Curtains: Energy Codes & Standards”, to 11:30 a.m. ET. Individuals who previously registered for the webinar do not need to re-register; the link e-mailed to them with their confirmation still will work.

The session is the latest in the AMCA insite series of free, professional-development-hour- (PDH-) eligible webinars.

Presented by Frank Cuaderno and David Johnson of AMCA’s Air Curtain Engineering Committee, the hour-long event will focus on air curtains as an alternative to vestibules. In 2019, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, became the latest building standard or code to allow air curtains as an alternative to vestibules, joining the International Energy Conservation Code; ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES 189.1, Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings; and the International Green Construction Code.

Cuaderno and Johnson will discuss related requirements, summarize recent research showing the energy savings air curtains provide, and more. “Air Curtains: Energy Codes & Standards” is sponsored by Berner International, King, and Mars Air Systems. It is worth one PDH through Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP). To register, click here.
