Richard A. “Dick” Starr, LEED AP, a regular contributor to Networked Controls Plus, has been named chairman of the board of managers of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA). Starr is president and owner of Enterprise HVAC Service and Control, Twinsburg, Ohio.
Prior to acquiring his own business, Starr worked as president of the systems/service division of a large Northeastern Ohio mechanical contractor. In February 2008, Starr became Northern Ohio’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional, within the Existing Building Operations & Maintenance (EBOM) track. In addition, Enterprise was named Commercial Contractor of the Year for 2011 by Contracting Business magazine. The company is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor. Starr also serves on the board of directors of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MCAA).
MSCA is a national trade association for HVACR contractors, providing education, marketing, and labor/management services to assure its members deliver quality performance, value and expertise for all building system needs. MSCA’s contractor qualification program, MSCA GreenSTAR, recognizes members for their outstanding commitment to providing energy-saving solutions to their customers and meeting exemplary service standards.
