National Fire Protection Association Names New President

Jim Pauley will assume his new role in July. He will succeed James M. Shannon, who has served as president of the NFPA since 2002.

Jim Pauley of Lexington, Ky., senior vice president of external affairs and government relations for Schneider Electric, will be the next president of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Pauley will assume his new role in July. He will succeed James M. Shannon, who has served as president of the NFPA since 2002.

Pauley, who holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Kentucky, has served in a number of codes- and standards-related roles, including chairman of the board for the American National Standards Institute, chairman of the NFPA’s standards council, and chair of the High-Performance Buildings Council of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
