Filtration media

With two-layer construction, odor-control filtration media from Kimberly-Clark eliminate odors and other irritant gaseous contaminants from HVAC-system air streams of commercial and institutional buildings. The upstream layer provides particulate filtration and protects the downstream layer from particulate loading. The downstream layer is made of activated carbon, which rapidly adsorbs and retains gaseous contaminants.

Chemical-analysis software

A chemical-analysis software program, MediaPIK Version 2.1 was created to help users identify the appropriate type and quantity of Purafil air-filtration media needed for an application. The software provides information about gases present in various applications, estimates media consumption, converts airflows and concentrations, and prints a report of the user's session.

Industrial fans

The Revolution Fan is a high-volume/low-speed industrial fan that provides consistent air circulation and ventilation and can save up to 30 percent in energy costs. Available in 8-, 12-, 16-, 20-, and 24-ft diameters, the fans' four contoured aluminum blades create an airflow of more than 360,000 cfm.

Actuators

Whether in heating or cooling circuits or ventilation, extraction, or variable-air-volume systems, quick-running actuators from Belimo open and close air dampers at top speed. The actuators ensure fresh air in paint rooms, laboratories, and other sensitive areas. Available for damper applications in rotating and linear versions, the actuators are load independent over the entire specified operating range.

Energy-recovery-ventilators catalog

A catalog from Mitsubishi Electric describes the company's line of energy-recovery ventilators. The full-color catalog displays product photographs; typical-installation, electrical-installation, and wiring diagrams; tables; and graphs. Detailed features include a multifunction liquid-crystal-display remote control and high-static-pressure blades. The ventilators' Lossnay construction and system compatibility are described.

Air-handling units

For commercial and light-industrial applications, such as vehicle-repair shops, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities, Combat DF-Series direct-fired air-handling units provide 100-percent fuel efficiency, improved indoor-air quality, and consistent temperatures with less stratification. The units offer design flexibility with multiple installation options, including indoor, outdoor, vertical, and horizontal configurations. Available in natural-gas or propane models, the units have air volumes from 1,000 to 60,000 cfm.

Inline duct fans

Design improvements to FG Series inline duct fans include galvanized-steel housings and longer duct connections to speed installation. Fans are prewired and include brackets for mounting to a wall or ceiling. Straight-through airflow allows fans to be installed at any angle at any point along ductwork. With airflow measurements of 135 to 940 cfm, 12 fan models have a range of duct connections with diameters from 4 to 12 in. The fans are rated for air-stream temperatures of up to 140°F, and many models are Energy Star-rated.
