HPAC 'On The Air': Our Year of Living Digitally, with Chuck Gulledge

March 22, 2021
*PODCAST*: The outgoing ASHRAE President reflects on a year like no other for its 53,000 members, now immersed in remote technology and public health policy.

For our second podcast, HPAC Engineering's Rob McManamy chats with ASHRAE President Chuck Gulledge, to discuss the international engineering group's extraordinary year of digital transformation during an all-encompassing crisis.

Incredibly, even before 2020, Gulledge had already chosen the "Digital Lighthouse" as the theme of his presidency. Little did he know that we would ALL be living that concept remotely for most of last year and into the foreseeable future.

Here, Gulledge reviews how his 53,000-member professional organization and its 198 chapters worldwide pivoted to a new, virtual reality, while opening a new headquarters outside Atlanta, and amassing its expertise to advise governments everywhere on the indoor air quality risks and recommended remedies for operating buildings safely during this once-per-century pandemic.
