Engineers are often confronted with ethical issues on HVACR projects - whether they realize it or not. This interactive webinar will test the "Ethics IQ" of participants with multiple examples of real-life ethics cases, discuss the issues involved, and then explain the reasoning behind the adjudicating board's opinion. Attendees will be able to share their opinions and get answers to such questions as:

• "Is there only one mechanism for deciding ethical issues?"
• ''Is confidentiality of a client's data protected by privilege?"

Learning Objectives:
• Understand that decisions to ethical issues are often "situational."
• Understand that decisions to ethical questions may depend on the perspective of the decider.

Jennifer Leach, PE, LEED AP, is Associate Principal at BR+A Consulting Engineers in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. An engineering graduate of Penn State University with 30 years of industry experience; she is also an active volunteer, mentor, and advocate for women in engineering.

Mike Bilderbeck, PE, FASHRAE

Mike Bilderbeck, PE, FASHRAE, is a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Fire Protection Engineer at Pickering Firm Inc. in Memphis TN. He joined the firm in 1980 and has extensive experience in facilities evaluation, design and renovation of mechanical systems and production of detailed HVAC specifications.

Jen & Mike are both active members of ASHRAE Technical Committee 1.7, Business Management and General Legal Education. They frequently present on Engineering Ethics.
