Yaskawa Electric America Inc., the Waukegan, Ill.-based manufacturer of alternating-current drives, servomotors, motion controllers, and robotics, recently laid claim to being the first company in the world to ship 10 million variable-frequency drives.
The 10 millionth drive was from Yaskawa's V1000 line.
It took the company 19 years to cross the 1-million-drive mark, nine more years to cross the 5-million-drive mark, and only five more years to cross the 10-million-drive mark.
