Mitsubishi Electric Supports Humanitarian Relief Efforts in Ukraine

Tokyo-based multinational manufacturer suspends equipment shipments to Russia, donates more than $1 million to United Nations High Command for Refugees.

TOKYO, March 10, 2022Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today a donation to support humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. The company would like to express its sincere condolences to those who have been affected by the situation in Ukraine, and it hopes for a return to peace in the region as soon as possible.

Mitsubishi Electric has donated €1 million Euro (around 127 million Yen; or $1.09 million) to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency to extend humanitarian relief efforts towards those affected. 

The company also plans to make additional donations through Mitsubishi Electric SOCIO-ROOTS Fund, a gift-matching program which matches and doubles donations from employees. Due to the current logistics and finance situation, Mitsubishi Electric has suspended its shipments to Russia and is facing difficulties to continue its sales.
