2017 AHR Expo Breaks Three Records for Attendance, Size

The 2017 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo), held Jan. 30 through Feb. 1 in Las Vegas, broke three show records.

The 2017 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo), held Jan. 30 through Feb. 1 in Las Vegas, broke three show records, International Exposition Co. recently announced.

The 2017 show’s attendance of 68,615 surpassed the previous record attendance of 61,674 of the 2015 show in Chicago by 11.3 percent. The 2017 show’s attendance was 28.7-percent greater than the overall attendance of 53,324 the last time the AHR Expo was held in Las Vegas (2011).

The 2017 show’s exhibits occupied a total of 500,159 net square feet, breaking the 2015 show’s previous record of 486,600 net square feet.

The 48,568 total visitors of the 2017 AHR Expo surpassed the previous record of 42,887 set by the 2014 show in New York by 13.2 percent. The 2017 total was 44.5-percent more than the 33,612 the last time the AHR Expo was held in Las Vegas.

The 2017 show’s nearly 11.5 acres of exhibit space was occupied by 1,968 exhibitors, 259 of which were participating in the AHR Expo for the first time. The exhibits were staffed by 20,047 people representing a majority of the U.S. geographic landscape, as well as 32 outside countries.

The 2017 show was attended by 14,825 international visitors from 165 countries, along with 541 international exhibitors.
