CHARLOTTE, NC – July 15, 2026 – Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, a fifth-generation, family-owned manufacturer, is celebrating 125 years in business this year.
Founded in 1901 by W. Frank Dowd, Charlotte Pipe has grown from a local foundry to one of the nation’s leading producers of cast iron and plastic pipe and fittings, with 1,800 associates in eight plants across the country. As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry proudly remains American-owned and American-made.
“It’s an exciting and monumental year for both our country and our company,” Charlotte Pipe and Foundry CEO Hooper Hardison said. “We’re proud to say we’ve been manufacturing domestically for half of America’s history, and we can’t wait to celebrate this incredible milestone with our associates who made it all possible.”
